Molecular & Cellular Basis of Disease

An important mission of fundamental biomedical research is to improve our understanding of the molecular and cellular processes underlying both physiological and pathophysiological functions of cells and tissues.  Several Biochemistry faculty explore metabolic and signaling processes that go awry in disease syndromes such as diabetes, neurodegeneration, lysosomal storage disorders, as well as neurological and psychiatric disorders such as autism, depression and epilepsy.
